Vivien joined Loughborough University in June 2017 as Lecturer in Construction and Project Management. Previously she was a Research Associate at the University of New South Wales and undertook her PhD studies at the University of Hong Kong. Her PhD explored the politics of engagement, specifically how power relationships play out during public engagement processes for urban development projects. Chris’s research into future cities has focussed on sustainability, resilience, liveability and smartness, and has resulted in a suite of methodologies to support a new Theory of Change for infrastructure and urban systems. He led the Urban Futures consortium yielding a methodology to test the resilience of a city system intervention, and also led the Liveable Cities programme grant, exploring future cities in relation to individual, societal and planetary wellbeing. Ian is Professor in Geotechnical Engineering and Head of Education at the University of Birmingham. He graduated from Loughborough University, with a BEng (hons) Degree in Civil Engineering. He then continued to read for a PhD in Geotechnical Engineering. After completion of his doctorate in 1992, he worked for three years as a lecturer at Loughborough University. After which he joined Nottingham Trent University as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in 1995, becoming a Principal Lecturer in 2001 and a Reader in 2002. Chris Gorse is a Professor of Construction Management and Engineering, leading a world-class construction group with expertise in data analytics, energy, buildings, sustainability, behaviour, management, and economics. His research centres on buildings and energy, taking on the challenge of delivering healthy and sustainable environments, with over 30 years of research and industrial experience in the built environment, undertaking research and consultancy in construction, complex systems, sustainability, energy efficiency, quality, and performance management. Phil Longhurst holds the Chair of Environment and Energy Technology and is based in the Energy Theme. His research investigates the way that materials can be recovered or diverted from landfill to improve resource use and reduce environmental pollution. His research contributes to the activity in Bioenergy and has a wide portfolio of projects including; creating wealth from recovering trace metals in contaminated land, nutrient recovery from waste, risk assessments for compost and anaerobic digestion use in agriculture, and establishing opportunities for SMEs. Professor Paul Jeffrey is the Director of the Water Theme at Cranfield Water Science Institute. Paul's research interests span a range of disciplines and topics related to the delivery of sustainable water use. He has led projects on water reuse, the social and economic dimensions of water management, and resilient water systems. He also has wider interests in the relationships between human, natural, and technological systems, particularly as they relate to issues of resource efficiency and social justice. David Saal has over twenty years of academic and policy related experience in cost, productivity and efficiency measurement and its application to infrastructure industries.  He joined Loughborough University in 2014 as a Professor of Microeconomics after 15 years at Aston University and was Head of Economics until 2017.  He became Loughborough Business School’s Impact Director in December 2022, and is also currently Co-Director of both the Sustainable Hydrogen Centre for Doctoral Training, and Loughborough Business School’s Centre for Productivity and Performance. Dr Iniobong James “IJ” Ikpeh is the Impact Hub Development Officer for C-DICE. IJ has led research on regulatory compliance in water supply as well as managed projects that shaped policy implementation in water supply and housing for local communities. IJ has experience working with researchers having led the Doctoral Representative team and served as Research Event Coordinator to support over 200 Doctoral Researchers at the School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering, Loughborough University.
