Travel to Cranfield University
Situated close to Milton Keynes and Bedford, the Cranfield campus is situated in Wharley End, very close to Cranfield village, and is about 10 minutes from the M1 motorway. There is rail and road access to most major airports, as well as coach and train stations.
By bus or taxi:
Many National Express coach routes run via Milton Keynes Coachway. Taxis and buses are available to the University. Buses run approximately every half hour to Milton Keynes and Bedford. www.unobus.info
By rail To Milton Keynes:
Central Milton Keynes is on the West Coast main line which connects London Euston to the Midlands, North and Northwest, and is 8 miles/12 km from Cranfield. To Bedford: Bedford is on the line connecting London St. Pancras with the North and is 12 miles/19 km from Cranfield. Taxis and buses are available from Bedford and Milton Keynes stations to the University. C-DICE Travel Grant
We want to encourage postdoctoral researchers from across the country to engage with the Net Zero Futures Conference! If you are interested in attending the conference – you can apply for our travel grant and C-DICE will contribute up to £150 towards the cost of travel and/or an overnight stay.
There are also a limited number of rooms available at the Cranfield Management Development Centre (CMDC) for delegates. Delegates will be considered for allocation, if stated in their travel grant application. This does not guarantee a booking even if the travel grant is approved.
You need to be registered on Inkpath to apply for a grant. Sign up for the activity on Inkpath and you will receive the application form via email. The deadline to apply is 12 September 2024.
C-DICE Bus Service
C-DICE is offering a convenient and sustainable transportation option for delegates attending the Net Zero Futures Conference 2024. Two dedicated bus services will be available for delegates – one from the University of Nottingham (with a stop at Loughborough University) and a second from the University of Birmingham (with a stop at Aston University) to the conference venue at Cranfield University.
Traveling together with fellow delegates supports our shared commitment to sustainability by reducing the overall carbon footprint associated with travel. The buses are free for all conference delegates, please reserve your seat in advance to secure your place on the bus.

Institutional Travel Grants
Available to a group of delegates attending from the same university, the Institutional Travel Grant will award up to £500 per institution towards the cost of hiring a 7-seat taxi, minibus or a coach to the conference and back. The application can be completed by any representative of the group or researcher support staff; payments will be made by purchase order to your university.
