Are you an early career postdoctoral researcher considering your next career steps?  Do you aspire to a leadership position, or have you recently taken on such a role?  Would you like to develop your skills in managing multiple research projects and priorities?

Managing multiple research projects and priorities:

Developed by Dr Katy Mahoney, an experienced researcher-coach, C-DICE are delighted to host this intensive and interactive 1-day workshop for postdoctoral researchers.

The day will allow you to explore some key aspects of moving on in a research career where your time becomes even more precious and you find you need to juggle priorities to achieve success.

The programme covers the themes of project planning, delegation, resource and people management and prioritisation.

Prior to attending, you will need to complete a short (10-15mins) pre-course task to assess your current priorities and time-management skills.

You will be invited to bring a project you are working on to the programme in order to bring the learning to life.

Learning outcomes:

  • Identify the standards, requirements and professional conduct that are needed for the effective management of research
  • Explore how to delegate to others in order for you to focus on your research and administrative priorities
  • Use time management tools to lead a team to deliver successful projects

By the end of the workshop you will have the knowledge to:

  • plan and delegate to deliver research projects
  • create project timelines
  • manage project resources
  • communicate effectively with others.
