Caring Support Fund

C‑DICE recognised that caring responsibilities could limit postdoctoral researchers’ ability to participate fully in its activities. The Caring Support Fund was therefore introduced to help cover the cost of care normally provided by the researcher, enabling attendance at C‑DICE events without additional stress or financial burden.

The fund supported arrangements such as extra home help, nursing or specialist care, extended childcare, or travel expenses for a companion caregiver.

Postdoctoral researchers were eligible to apply (excluding academic staff) when attending C‑DICE events either virtually or in person. Grants were capped at £100, limited to three applications per year and one award per activity. Support could be requested for C‑DICE activities taking place outside normal working days, involving extended hours, or requiring an overnight stay.
