Supporting postdoc talent (UKRI event recordings)

Recordings from the C‑DICE & UKRI workshop: Driving research excellence through supporting postdoctoral talent, 6 November 2025

A capacity audience came together in York for a timely and productive conversation about how we can better support postdoctoral researchers, hosted by C-DICE and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).

There was so much good practice shared — and clear evidence that postdocs are a jewel in the UK’s HE sector, helping to drive economic growth, national capability and regional impact.

Watch highlights of the whole day and hear from research leaders, postdocs and the UKRI.

why supporting postdocs matters

Kathryn North (Director, Loughborough University Research Academy) and Frances Burstow (UKRI, Director of Talent and Skills), set out why supporting postdocs matters and framed the day’s discussions.

Across all sessions covering four key themes, one message was unmistakable: postdocs are invaluable.
