Assessing Carbon Impact Part 1: online webinar Mon 6 Oct 2025, 10:00-11:30

This webinar provides an opportunity to explore the principles of avoided carbon impact assessments for research projects. Understanding the objective of these assessments and how they can add value to existing and future research.

Part 1 is a standalone session and will provide the fundamentals to avoided carbon impact assessments. This will provide:

• the context of why we may want to understand the potential carbon emission impact of ongoing and developing research,
• explore what we are, and are not, assessing,
• a discussion of terminology,
• an introduction to the basis of the assessment framework.

This is a standalone online webinar session to provide the fundamentals to avoided carbon impact assessments and is a pre-requisite of Part 2 which is an interactive in-person workshop to apply the framework to real case studies. Registration in Part 1 does not guarantee a place in Part 2. Parts 1 & 2 must be booked separately.
