Panel Discussion: Exploring Careers Beyond Academia, 9 December 2025, 10:00-12:00

Not every researcher wants – or secures – a traditional academic career. This panel brings together guest speakers who have successfully built careers outside universities to share their stories, challenges and advice. From non-profits to industry and independent consultancy, they will reflect on how they used their research skills in new contexts. Join us for an honest and practical discussion about alternative career routes and how you can shape your own journey.

Panelists:

• Dr Hayley Watson, Trilateral Research
• Dr Aran Eales, Global Infrastructure Advisors
• Dr Mohammad Khalili, CriticalMat Supply
• Dr Naomi Tyrrell, Research Your Way

There will be an opportunity for audience Q&A at the end of the discussion.
