Deliver postdoc led training, test new avoided emissions assessment toolkit, field notes from Malawi and more AI training
We are seeking expressions of interest to run new postdoc led training sessions in early 2026. Whether your expertise lies in energy systems, infrastructure, sustainability, or advancing the net zero transition, this is your opportunity to take the lead and shape the conversation. Host a webinar, facilitate a workshop, or pilot a hands-on training series, the format is up to you. We’ll help bring your ideas to life.
Dr Lizzie Ashton from Loughborough University has just returned from Malawi and reflects on the incredible experience of commissioning a containerised battery–electrolyser system at Mwanza District Hospital, delivering training for safe hydrogen energy use, and engaging local communities to build confidence. We’re proud to support talented postdocs like Lizzie in advancing their careers and delivering impactful projects worldwide through C-DICE networking grants.
Doctoral and postdoctoral researchers are invited to join a January beta test of C-DICE’s new online avoided emissions assessment toolkit, which builds on Bryony Bowman‘s very popular postdoc led training sessions. Register now for a chance to receive a £50 Amazon voucher.
Don’t forget to apply by 26 January for up to £2,500 from the ERA/C-DICE Community Fund to deliver energy or net zero events, with training and mentoring provided.
Our hugely popular AI for researchers training series continues with two new sessions, delivered by Dr Naomi Tyrell: AI ethics for researchers (15 January) AI for policy, impact and public engagement (22 January). Register early to reserve your place.
And registrations are open for a host of great events to raise your profile and build networks including the UK Energy Storage Conference, the Faraday ECR Energy Storage Conference and the ECR Net Zero Conference – don’t miss the calls for abstracts.
Read our final newsletter of 2025 for full details.
And finally, thank you for being part of the C-DICE community. Wishing you peace, light and hope as the year ends.
