REDS shines a light on Net Zero Skills Framework

REDS shines a light on Net Zero Skills Framework

A new blog post exploring the C‑DICE Net Zero Skills Framework has just been published on the Researcher Education and Development Scholarship (REDS) Conference website.

Authored by C-DICE team members Sarah Gomes, Sharon Henson, Kathryn North, Swathi Mukundan and researcher development coach Elizabeth Adams, the piece outlines how the framework – developed through collaboration with industry and the higher education sector – supports researchers to identify and grow the professional capabilities essential for contributing to a sustainable, climate‑aligned future. It emphasises that progressing in net‑zero fields requires not just technical knowledge but a diverse range of transferable skills that enable researchers to navigate emerging career pathways with confidence.

The article builds on work presented at the conference on 22 January by postdoctoral researcher Swathi Mukundan, offering insight into a framework designed to help researchers develop the broad skill set needed for impactful net‑zero careers.

Thank you to REDS for this invaluable platform to share best practice!

Both the REDS Conference blog and the C‑DICE Net Zero Skills Framework are open access resources.
